Short Description

3M Fire Barrier Sealant FD 150+ is designed primarily for sealing penetrations for non-combustible penetrants. 3M Fire Barrier Sealant FD 150+ has been tested and approved for single metallic pipe penetrations, common electrical and communications cable penetrations, as well as multiple penetrants through both masonry and gypsum wallboard constructions. Additional systems have been tested for applications with dynamic head-of-wall joints.

  • Ready-to-use, gun-grade latex-based elastomeric sealant cures upon exposure to the atmosphere to form a monolithic flexible firestop seal
  • Provides up to 4-hour fire protection in tested and listed systems
  • Firestops construction joints and through penetrations
  • No mixing required, +/- 19% movement capability
  • Helps minimize noise transfer
  • Applied with conventional caulking equipment
  • Halogen-free, sag-resistant, excellent adhesion, paintable, re-enterable/repairable
  • When properly installed, sealant helps prevent the spread of fire, smoke and noxious gas
  • Remains elastomeric and exhibits excellent adhesion to a full range of construction substrates
  • Acts as an acoustic barrier by minimizing noise transfer (STC-Rating of 56 when tested in a STC 56-rated wall assembly)
  • Helps create a smoke seal for systems requiring the optional L-Rating
  • 180 deg F operating temperature, 40 - 122 deg F application temperature
  • 85 psi tensile strength
