State Electric is Customer Focused and Quality Driven through our quality people, products, processes and planning. The Training department is dedicated to serving these key areas through our programs.
Our people are the most important focus of our company. We offer an extensive new hire onboarding program, as well as continued education opportunities for all employees as they grow in our organization and change roles. These opportunities include safety training, certification opportunities, software & systems training, and industry-specific training like EPEC and VDV. Through our partnership with the NAED Learning Center, our employees have access to skills training courses ranging from customer service to communication. NAED also offers curricula tailored to the different roles in our organization – including Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Counter Sales, Purchasing and Finance/Credit. These courses ensure that employees in every aspect of our business are highly trained and ready to serve our customer’s needs.
State Electric also offers a yearly Leadership course which focuses on both personal and business growth, and truly exemplifies State Electric’s commitment to our people. The in-house program spans eight months, and contributes to the long-term success of our employees and company.
There are a variety of training opportunities for our employees and customers to build on their product knowledge. We host product demonstrations with our manufacturer partners at State Electric branch locations. We also encourage employees to attend ‘factory schools’ which are often multi-day training events held at a manufacturer facility. Employees can learn at their own pace utilizing the vast amount of product training materials available through the NAED Learning Center.
Our corporate branch achieved ISO certification in March of 1996, and is audited every year by a third party company to retain our ISO 9001:2015 certification. This certification requires that we maintain standard processes across the company, and that we continually work towards improving our processes. Using ISO 9001:2015 standards across our entire footprint ensures that we provide the highest quality products and services consistently to our customers.
